Daughter of a King

What did you just say? Oh, that’s what you think of me? I almost fell into that pack of lies. But contrary to what you think or say, let me explain to you just who I am…..

I am a daughter of a King, the King of Kings, My Daddy!!

  My Daddy tells me I am a new creation; redeemed, called, clothe in righteousness, an heir, no longer dead, made alive, no longer lost, found, no longer blind, the veil removed, no longer bound, unchained, free, Holy and blameless, forgiven, but most of all I am LOVED!  I could listen and believe what you say, and some of it might even have a slight bit of truth (my pass), but my Daddy doesn’t punish me for sins that Jesus already paid for in full. Besides, I much rather hear what my Daddy has to say. He speaks Truth!  I could go on and on about what my Daddy says about me but I think you get it. I know I do!  I know I AM A DAUGHTER of a KING!!

Satan can deter our minds, distract us, accuse us, make us feel bad, remind us of our pass, and so many other things; but the thing we need to remember is who we are in Christ and who Christ says we are. As I read in Colossians 1:19-23 & 2:6-15 (see below) these verses began to sink in, I’ve read these verses before, yet I’ve never allowed the words to resonate as they did today!  I hope these words of truth sink deep within you as well.  

     

Colossians 1:19-23 (NIV)

¹⁹ For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, ²⁰ and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
²¹ Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. ²² But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— ²³ if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

⁶ And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. ⁷ Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

⁸ Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. ⁹ For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.¹⁰ So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
¹¹ When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature.¹² For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.
¹³ You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. ¹⁴ He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 
 ¹⁵ In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.
